Sorry I do not know how to help you. This is the first project like this I have ever worked on but I'm sure someone else can give you some advice.
I have fallen over at the final hurdle with John, everybody. I have created the new GUI and have written the commands but for some reason I can not figure out how to make the John pipe window to appear as a separate xterm. The command I usually use to make things run in separate xterms is:
osso-xterm -e "command args"
But all that happens is the window opens then closes straight away. The annoying thing is that the command itself runs perfectly fine from xterm, just not when trying to open a new xterm.
If anyone has any advice I would be very happy as this is the last problem I have before I can release the new version.

You can try something like this:
osso-xterm -e "sh path/to/script-with-comand"
