I think I am done with this overclocking
some people seem to have problems upgrading to maemo22.
I have no idea why. maybe the modules are not upgraded?

If you used one one of my experimental kernels (not the ones from extras-*)
I recommend the following:
* create a backup!
* reset pmconfig to defaults (125/600)
* reinstall the original kernel and remove kernel-maemo kernel-modules-maemo
apt-get install --reinstall kernel kernel-flasher
apt-get remove kernel-maemo kernel-modules-maemo
then install kernel-flasher-maemo again
apt-get install kernel-modules-maemo
alternatively you could upgrade on the command line and check whether there are any error messages:
apt-get upgrade

in the worst case just reflashing the original kernel over USB should be sufficient
Code:
flasher-3.5 -u -F RX-51_2009SE_3.2010.02-8_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin
sudo flasher-3.5 -f -k zImage -R

First off - a big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the N900 overclocking scene

Would somebody mind explaining why the titan ideal kernel has the min and max frequencies set to 500 and 850 respectively? (instead of say 250 and 1000) Does the 500MHz idle mode not consume more power then than 250MHz?

This is a fake. It is funny how many blogs think they are doing proper journalism without providing any sources to my photos and this thread. They simply don't get it...

this is not related to cpufrequtils.
remove the listed broken packages first.

That way, if you set a wrong parameter (there might even be changes - a voltage level that works in winter will not work on a hot summer day), you don't get a reboot loop, but have a small time to open an xterm and kill the script before it causes a reboot.
I'd rather have an automatic reboot loop detection.
for example, it could check for a file /etc/lastboot:
if it doesn't exist, create it
if it exists and its modification time is < 2min ago it would only apply stock settings,
otherwise create/update it and apply user settings.

for comparing times:
t=`date +%s`
test $((t-`cat /etc/lastboot)) -lt 120 && echo reboot loop detected
echo $t > /etc/lastboot

No time to script/test right now, but an idea:

1. date > ~/lasttime
2. cat|col < ~/lasttime - get hh, mm and ss
3. hh*60*60+mm*60+ss
4. same for "now"
5. diff (3) with (4)

I know, only very rough...
