Does the N950/N9 have a similiar interface for conversations to the N900! really like this on the N900 but think i have seen a apple approach in some screen shots for the N9?

daperl - do you know if there is avatars etc/similar interface as the N900? I take it you can have conversations in their own right and that you don't have to view them on one of the three homepages?

Anybody know if the silly 10 MB maximum apply for sharing to social networks with the N9/N950?

No on the conversation view, yes on the multi-inbox support. The home page also has a "Recent Messages" or "Favorite Folder" option.
Hi Daperl,

I just have one question for you regarding battery, and would be grateful if you could shed some light on it. I understand that the N9 doesn't have the highest capacity battery, but as well as having battery capacity, how that capacity is used makes a huge difference. I read above that you mentioned incredible power efficiany/saving on the display.. Could you reveal a little more info on the battery in regards to my question below?

With moderate to heavy usage how long does the battery last? By moderate/heavy I mean this...

Currently I have a Galaxy S2 and I use it for about 4-5 hours of music playback per day, send about 200 sms a day, use about 2-3 hours of wifi usage per day (browsing, facebook app, whatsapp), the rest is standby time. With this usage the Galaxy S2's battery last exactly 24hrs (give or take 30mins). Granted the Galaxy S2 uses a larger (1650mAh) capacity battery but it also has a more power hungry screen and currently a bug in the OS which drains excessive battery even when idle/standby. Still I squeeze 24hrs out of it with the above mentioned usage.

How does the N950 fare in comparison to this. So with the above daily usage, 4-5 hrs music, 200ish sms, 2-3 hrs wifi browsing/facebook/whatsapp, maybe 20mins of calling and the rest on standby time, how long does the N950 battery last? Does it manage 24hrs with above usage, or can it last longer? That is what I am dying to know.

If you could provide some info on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

daperl - well done, you've quenched my thirst.

I am not really bothered by the dual core revolution so agree on that point. I am also a wireless man and wish more and more devices had better connectivity (e.g. printers, DSLR's) but fact remains there are still devices that are out there which people will not upgrade simply to get wireless functionality.

I will give you an example of why I would like USB host/HDMI Output. I am an avid photographer/graphic designer so i like to move storage/manipulate/share images as soon as they are ready. As much as I adore my 13" netbook, I avoid travelling with it. The N900 has served as a true tablet for me - I use it to draw sketches, store high res images and then share with clients when ready. My SLR does not have bluetooth/wifi connectivity (do any?) and at times I resort to using my N900 to take photos only because I am able to share as soon as I need to. The possibility that i am able to download photos from an SD card onto my tablet (N9?) and then spend the rest of the day out without going back home sounds beautiful to me. I accept that my request might be niche and not really a critical one -but one can ask.

HDMI has simliar benefits as I can showcase art designs in any meeting/home as long as a HD tv is around (at HD quality). Sure id prefer DLNA but configuring this on the go isnt realistic and can be difficult without a router around.

As for the hwkb, i'm ready to move onto touch only. I accept we must work with what we are given and find new benefits in change. So no issue there. In response I am getting a new N900 so I can make the transition easier!

Comparing the the N950's power usage etc would only be valid with the N950 as there are differences in hardware and the screen is different especially so we'll have to wait for the N9 to be tested. The software build is also not the release build so battery saving's could be added to the build that will ship on the N9.
