No, those were just really, really tiny hands :B

There's a hint there, though. Would they release that Maemo 5 video if the 3.5" was the biggest screen they were going to release for it? *shrug*

does anyone remember the original stated prices (in Euro and Dollars) for the N800 and the N810?

I seem to recall that they were nearly identical numbers (the N810 was close to $500 and close to 500 euro), not obeying conversion rates.

I'm trying to figure out if that's an accurate memory, and if so, guessing what the US price will be if that repeats itself.

This request may drown in this general (pressure) release fervour, but I would like to ask the Nokia (Maemo) marketing people to create a library of perfectly optimized versions (incl. volume! ) of any N900 promo videos for viewing on the "old" Nokia Internet Tablets, and also on the Apple iPhones and other competing devices.

For years now the NIT-toting army has wandered in the darkness promoting the platform to any/many people we meet on the road. "No it's really not a phone... Let me show you..."

In fact all Maemo 5 / N900 sites by Nokia should feature a prominent Download Video link so that even the zombies infected by competing hardware could be turned into walking Maemo Ambassadors!

On the N810, there are _some_ applications that come with one click install, others that can be installed through the application manager, and yet others again that can be installed but in more advanced installation processes.

Since this thing runs on Linux, the scale continues up to where you have to port the application yourself or even write it to get it. So, the scale goes from as easy as technically possible, to as hard as technically possible.

All I can say to this is WOW! This is way better than everything I had expected form the N900/Maemo 5. IMHO this beats every iphone, palm pre and whatnot out there! Really great work Nokia and especially the whole Maemo-Team! As soon as this beauty is aviable in Germany I will get one ( I hope this will be soon as I wan't one ASAP! ^_^)

Hey, is it just me or does the N900 have vsync issues when horizontally scrolling the screens? (swapping apps, home screens).

I saw it on the youtube video (interaction documentary: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RP5R-5NX1BE ), and pretty apparent just a few seconds into the video when showing the multiple home screens.

Could it be because they already had, like, 6 browser "tabs" open?

I've seen browsers on PCs have slow-down issues in those scenarios.

So, swapdisk trashing manifests itself as graphic slowdown and vsync issues?

The price is not that different.
Prices compared

And these street prices might drop significantly the first week in sale, often. It WILL be close to the Pro2, cheaper on some markets.

Did you guys notice that the laptop in the Nokia "hands on" video is the new Nokia Booklet 3G. Sweet!
