Hi,

I'm one of the FCam developers. Thanks for noticing the green flash - we missed that in our testing. It's caused by us forgetting to clean up the overlay for the viewfinder quite right. It's harmless, but I understand it's annoying to see.

We've fixed the issue, and when we upload the next version of Fcamera, it'll be fixed. Sorry for the trouble!

@FCam devs: have you guys tested for memory leakage and battery drain, esp. in the drivers? I only ran the Fcamera app for a few minutes yesterday (it's a hoot!), but the kernel modules were loaded the entire time. It seemed like my battery drained much faster than it usually would. Maybe a little PowerTop and Valgrind action is in order?

P.S. I love the fact that the white balance is adjusted with a slider instead of the whole indandescent / fluorescent / shady / really-shady / i'm-the-slim-shady kind of dial. Same for ISO and exposure, of course.

P.P.S. The settings and photo browsing screens could use a Quit button, too. And on all three screens, it's probably better in the upper right as the standard "X" rather than the word "Quit".

Why is a reboot necessary to install the FCam drivers? Is a modprobe not sufficient? Is a modprobe not sufficient for an update of the FCam drivers?

We replace some of the drivers used by the built-in camera app and daemon. Those programs seem to lock the modules as always-loaded, and we haven't been able to figure out how to rmmod them (even after forcibly killing camera-ui and omap3camd). Eventually we gave up and just put up a message telling people to reboot after installation.

@abadams et al. Well, it's nice that your Nokia partners are able to give you the info you need to rmmod those modules! :P
