It depends on individual variations between devices. 1GHz could be stable on some devices and not even boot on others.

Obviously overclocking stuff should never make it into extras repositories. After all, it is something that probably voids your warranty, and many users just ignore any possible warnings (only to come whine afterwards).

Okay... so you clearly arent aware that there is differences in chips. My one runs @ 1000mhz without a problem (so far). The reason why theres 1 minute in that picture is because I took the pic right it booted up. Since then I've overclocked the DSP and L3.

Not every chip is capable of 1000mhz speeds. This is just purely down to luck what you get.

I'm still not sure I understand the benefit of more steps between the slowest state and the fastest state. My device seems to spend >90% at the slowest state, <10% at the highest state, and a negligable amount of time at the intermediary states. But even though there is a lot I don't understand, I'm comfortable with flashing my device, so if some one could make a kernel that looks something like 100/200/300/500/900 or 150/300/500/900, I'd be happy to install it and make my device a guinea pig for this overclocking test.

Thanks, I know that this was valable for PC's CPU but I was not sure for moblies devices. I hope that mine can support overclocking ~1Ghz.
Can you pm files for 800 Mhz and 1Ghz please ?
