I'm glad to hear it at least helped some people. I'm a bit confused at the difference though

If it starts working, it works until I switch to another network. Then it stops working.
It starts working only if I delete the account / disable it, reboot and recreate/re-enable.

Also, I do remember this one scenario:
TOR kept reporting network error, so I went into TOR acount and without any changes, saved it - and no change to error, so I went to account again and saw the advanced setting which seemed to have extremely large garbage values (what looked like the +ve value for a large -ve number) in it. I set those to reasonable values (1 hour, 60 minutes, 10 minutes, etc), saved the account and suddenly TOR started working.

This has fixed the problem only once - and I think the problem happened just after your upgrade that introduced those values into Advanced settings.

Later, every time I tried to change those advanced settings values in the hope that it might cause the "Network error" to go away, it hasn't worked.

Don't know if that helps at all.

@General error: Already present: 8980

I have a fervent wish that if I close my eyes hold my breath and turn 4 times it might make TOR work, but I've not been able to reproduce that

Mind posting the first little bit of the log so I can see what the actual underlying error is?

Also have you tried Dialcentral and do you have issues with that?

Sent you an email with 3 logs: One when it doesn't work, and two when it did (after reboot right now).

And yes I have installed DialCentral. It works. TOR does not.

Just wanted to chime in that aside from a few quirks here and there it's been working for me.

Currentlly after rebooting, contacts that I merged only have one GV number. If I tap on it, it asks me to select an account (only TOR shown) then seperats the number to 2 entries for calling and IM.

One strange one today, perhaps related to the recent network error issues. This morning I dropped the kids off at my parents house. (I have their wifi setup on my N900). Afterwards while driving I noticed TOR wasn't connecting. Enabled/disabled still network error, reboot fixed. This evening after picking them up and staying for dinner, I returned home. TOR was still connected, having switched just fine from work wifi to 3g to parents wifi to 3g to home wifi. However I noticed my battery level had dropped significantly. It appears I was a vitim of the wifi disconnect bug. I believe my parents router caused it. I didn't notice if this occcurred in the morning.

Could these two issues be related? Could the N900 not disconnect properly/fully from some routers, thus causing the power drain, or sometimes causing TOR to think it's still connected to a previously used network connection? Therefore not geting a good connection?

The best I can figure is I'm leaking the previous connection on disconnect. Next time it comes around to connect, it errors because a connection "already exists".

With 0.7.9 and 0.7.10 I fixed a couple of these issues but it doesn't seem to be all. From some logs I was given I did see another issue (which issue seems impossible to me but anyways) that I've now fixed.

In case I'm just imagining things, has anyone with Maemo 4.1 or Empathy 2.26 (I'm about to start testing with newer version) seen either the re-connect bug or the general error on call bug?

Uploading 0.7.11. I don't expect this to fix any issues. I'm mostly interested to see if it breaks anything

The changes
  • Bugfix: Attempting to improve the behavior of calls by reducing potential RTComm errors
  • Bugfix: Issues with weird unexpected disconnect issues
  • Bugfix: I guess I made a mistake in registering for system signals, whoops
  • Bugfix: Following more closely the Telepathy spec by doing connects and disconnects asynchronously

Thanks for posting that, silvermountain.

I've been waiting like 2 weeks for someone as stupid as you so I wouldn't have to ask the same questions.

Oh, and hey, welcome back here.
