@vasvlad
Another issue I found, but not sure is it gismeteo or MeeCast. Have a look at the attached screenshot. Two issues - it is night already so there can not be sun, and also the text appears like question marks.

I don't have this gismeteo sign, so it must be the other aplication.

Very silly question: have you seen the idea (forgot where, maybe the Nokia idea contest, maybe somewhere here, maybe meego.com?) where the lockscreen photo/backdrop would be replaced according to the weather forecast?

I think that would be great.

Ideas for implementation:
1: user selectable images for each weather type
2: overlay of images (translucent) on top of existing backdrop

For 2, I could imagine that for rain, a bunch of raindrops get put on top of the original image, fog, snow etc, same thing, etc.
For 1, I'd put a snowman picture when it's going to be below 0 Celsius, a meadow with sunflowers when it's going to be sunny and warm, a couch (indoor) when the weather is going to be cold and rainy, a running shower when it's going to be warm (20 C or higher) yet rainy, etcetcetc.

This is very good idea. I thought about it 4 years ago.
But it requires good design art. I don't have it.

Hi.
The version 0.5.1 of Meecast is available in Apps For Meego.

Changelog:
* Fixed problem with negative temperatures in source gismeteo.ru
* Fixed problem with long station name in events, lockscreen and standby widget

I have problems downloading version 0.5.1 from apps for meego.
I select 0.5.1 in the webpage, the apps for meego app opens, shows 0.5.1 downloading and installing. But when I open it, it's version 0.4.4.

Tried several times reinstalling it, still get the 0.4.4 version...

Well, could you make the code to do image selection / overlay, and let people worry about the artwork itself?
I mean, for each of the 'n' weather types, there could be
1.png
2.png
.
.
.
n.png
images in a specific directory.
Then, for idea 1, the image gets set as backdrop directly. For idea 2, the current backdrop gets the respective png added on top.

For 2, I can even imagine that one would choose (create) a regular backdrop with an empty / white left top, and weather images that will fit that empty space exactly...

Note that some (me included) use 854x854 sized backdrop images to accommodate for lockscreen rotation...
