but what about the UK! I will be really annoyed if they don't release it here! I don't really want the Windows version! assuming that is a real handset

I asked T-Mobile in Germany today if and when they will have the N9... no answer yet, though...

As far as I can tell, but don't quote me on this, Nokia has moved away from the many-windows conversations approach. The home pages, or home screens, aren't application specific; quite the opposite. The app itself is a forth screen, if you will. Kinda sorta. If I confused you, maybe take another cruise around:

If you are making your decisions based on availability or lack thereof of certain features in N950, I would recommend to hold on until N9 is released. N950 firmware contains limited subset of features available in N9 sales release firmware configuration. The reason for that is very simple: developers who received N950 need to concentrate on their own applications.

So I wouldn't make a fuss about GTalk or XMPP in general missing on N950 developer-oriented firmware. Same goes for many of upload plugins for services supported in sales release firmware. Let's concentrate on applications to add.

BTW, unless you have Pro account on Flickr, your N9/N950 videos could not be viewed in their glory when uploaded to Flickr because HD video playback is only available for Pro accounts.
Thanks for that info, and if it is correct it is a giant improvement by Nokia! With symbian phones you are limited to 10 mb ith social (because Nokias servers blocks it)! Yes I have a pro flickr account and yes 90 seconds is enough for me but a few seconds (as is the case with my N8and 10 mb) is just to bad. Pixelpipe came to the rescue but have stopped this service as of late. Also for facebook its an improvement.

I think we never had this problem in N900. N950/N9 are on the same route, though sharing framework has been rewritten.
