Oh, and hey, welcome back here.
Oh sorry, I deleted my post above as I felt it was more appropriate to start a new post asking about RTComm install. Sorry

(For reference, my post said that after installing OneRing I didn't get any 'new app'...I then realized I probably needed RTComm...I tried installing THAT and just got an app for "IM log view". Stuck.

Creating a new post for RTComm install issue (here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...592#post522592 )

And thanks.

Uploading 0.7.12

I had some bugs in 0.7.11 that prevented basic stuff from working. So I decided to go on a rampage and find similar bugs that have existed for a while. All of them too minor to explicitly list.

Possible problem to report (N900/1.1/0.7.12)

I was having some problems connecting to T-Mo data this morning. Updated to 7.12 via wifi. Appeared to be working fine. Got online with T-Mo support. Had me turn N900 off, switched the tower I was on, turn back on. After reboot, and connecting to T-Mo, I noticed that one of my availability wasn't connecting. I think it was my SIP (Gizmo) acct. I tried switching my status. Then, SIP would connect, but TOR wouldn't (network error).

I have been playing with availability for the last day or two. I created a "TOR" status, TOR - available, SIP - away. Switching between TOR and Online kept leaving TOR with "network error". Disabling, enabling didn't help. Reboot fixed it. I've since connected to both wifi and T-Mo and no issues. Switched between TOR and online no problems. Seems like an isolated incident so far.

Here is the log from TOR. Hope it helps. The error at the end repeated several times.

I've had GTalk, Facebook (XMPP), Skype, and TOR running for the last couple days. Last night I hit the network error issue and got a very similar (baffling) log. I'm contemplating what additional traces might help me get an insight into what is going on.

If determine any additional things that need to be done/executed/etc. Post them here. I'll happily try them if it crops up again.

Having tried out the RTComm/One-ring option all I can say is PLEASE don't abandon the Dialcentral application [for Diablo].

DC is a wonderful stand-alone app that is one of my favorite apps on my N810 (see sig ).

Yes I saw both Dialcentral and Quicknote in your sig

I do plan to keep maintaining Dialcentral. One of these days I need to take a break and do some updates to it.

I'm curious what your thoughts were that Dialcentral meets your use-case better than TOR (for now).

Seems to be my bug as well. The 'handler already exists' is an error I keep getting. I had the same behavior in that sometimes it would work, but sometimes not.

I use DC 75% for SMSing and 25% to read incoming, translated voicemails. I just really like how DC presents the two. I close to hated how it worked in TOR.

Funny since most people hated how Dialcentral did it (since it isn't designed and targeted at IM style testing) and have wanted something like TOR.

Any more clarity on what you love in DC and hate about TOR?

I do plan on eventually making incoming voicemails in TOR have the rich text formatting that DC presents. I actually started a branch for it last night. I don't expect much progress on that though due to other priorities.
