The crap-tastic media player the N900 ships with will play music through the earphones and FM transmitter just fine.

Any idea what's wrong and how I can fix it?
Check your profile.

The N900 mutes all sound when in Silent mode except the built-in Nokia players.

Whoa, worked as soon as I changed it to "general" settings. Thanks, I would have never figured that out.

But then I had a new problem: pianobar was running in the background (the music started right up), even though pypianobar wasn't running. I couldn't get pypianobar to shut it off. In fact, when I started pypianobar again, I had two pandora streams playing, both on the same station but different songs.

I shut down pypianobar and the music from the first stream kept playing, so I turned the N900 off completely and turned it on again. Now pypianobar isn't working at all. The interface comes up, but the stations aren't loading and no music/cover art is showing. Should I re-install?

Thanks again for all your hard work on this...in the words of Jurassic Park, I hate this hacker crap.

If this happens, you can open a terminal and type:

Code:
killall pianobar
And not have to reboot.

love pypianobar. But I think the UI needs to change a little. the buttons look too rigid. sometime I can not tell if I clicked or not. and the theme could be a little bit more consistent with n900. Maybe give an option to change the background. Anyway, it is a great application..

Well.. I am absolutely horrid at UI design. So, I'm open to suggestions but also will be needing full explanation of what you want to see; and any pictures/graphics needed.

When it comes to GUI I am clueless.

Only way for this to work is to use a US-based proxy and putting the settings into the ~/.config/pianobar/config file.

I currently can't recommend any proxies, as I don't need or use them.

http://github.com/PromyLOPh/pianobar...config-example

control_proxy = <proxy>
