This new version is just awesome! Thanks Calvin, before this latest version I've been able to get roughly 28hrs of regular usage with the "starving" kernel settings I assume the features will greatly improve on that number. I'll post how much longer a full charge can last with regular usage in a few days. Thanks again!

Hi,
I just upgraded AutoDisconnect to 0.4-1 via software update and it disappeared from my applications menu and shortcuts (desktop). The app is still in /home/opt and is working fine (still running and all). I tried reinstalling and rebooting, but the shortcut didn't come back, so I have to run it via terminal, which is a nuisance. Anybody else have this problem and has an idea how to solve it?

Not sure, Calvin, but he could be referring to that applet that adds an option to the status area pop-up (you know, the pop-up you get when you press the status area) allowing you to switch between 2G-only, 3G-only or "dual mode" (which tries 3G whenever it cans, drops back to 2G when it can't get a 3G signal).
Since that app is very easy to use and is accessible through the status are (meaning, changing modes is *really* fast), he probably wants to know if autodisconnect can check for whatever network settings that app applies. I mean, it's an add-on done with the "public" API (as in, using something that isn't exclusive to official Nokia code) so it should be possible to "read" which configuration is being used at the moment.
Put another way.. If you can determine that the phone is working in "dual" mode (switching back and forth between 2G and 3G depending on signal quality for each mode), which I'd bet is how most people run it most of the time, then the "2G" option on autodisconnect would work as intended. *But* if you can determine the phone is *not* set to "dual" mode and has instead been configured by the user to run exclusively in 2G or 3G mode, then autodisconnect should ignore the 2G setting and just let the phone work in whatever mode the user has set it on.
Gotta rush otherwise I'd test it right now with that app ("3G/2G/Dual Mode Selection Applet" is the one I'm using but I'm sure there's a bunch other that do the exact same thing). Yeah I understand but it is what I said. If the user want to stay in 2G mode, he has just not to enable the option in autodisconnect, that's easy!FYI Autodisconnect changes the network mode exactly like the app you re talking about.
What I have to try is maybe not switching to 3_g mode but to dual mode. Have to run a few tests.

Now running starving again (250-600), AND the beta 2G/3G switch. Lets see what happens.
