Is there anyway to bookmark your location in the audio file (useful for podcasts). I know it was a star in the Chinook/Diablo versions but I can't seem to find the star or a method to bookmark the place.

Just be a little bit more patient.
The YouTube plugin is for the Diablo version and does not work with the N900 version yet.

So the FLVs are playing but mpgs are not? The mpgs and everything else works in mplayer. I read there is someplace to set player backend but the file appears different in this release, I can't find it.
Also, I can't use it till the volume issue is resolved. When Mediabox is at 100%, the Phone volume is like around 40%. Volume works fine in the osso media player.

MPEG ought to play fine too with the GStreamer backend. Is there anything special about your files? The filename extension perhaps? Does MediaBox list the MPEGs in the navigator?
Currently, the GStreamer backend is the only backend supported on the N900.

The players.mapping file is located in
You can copy it toCode:/opt/mediabox/mediaplayer/players.mapping.maemo5
and edit it there. Any entries in ~/.mediabox/players.mapping override the original settings.Code:/home/user/.mediabox/players.mapping
But if MediaBox detects Maemo5 correctly, then the GStreamer backend is the only one that gets loaded. If the main window has a close button on the top-right then MediaBox detected Maemo5. If not, then we have a bug to find and fix.
Theoretically the mplayer backend might work on Maemo5 but is untested and not loaded. The osso backend cannot be used on Maemo5 since there is no osso-media-server.
