freemangordon -- I slipped you the test video.

You were right -- messing around with kernel-config profiles shows me that above Handbrake Constant Quality rf=25, I needed to overclock beyond 600Mhz for h264 480x368 video to play.

I also find that the stock Media Player works better than OMP, due to a bug where OMP's controls for a failed movie load play a song rather than the movie. Plus it bookmarks where you are in the movie.

cool, but can someone tell me why my recorded picture is yellow-colored? o.O

BTW overclocked dsp at 600, freemangordon's test and my "test" file works very smooth, but other 720p files not especially

Mind specifying how big will the download be if I run the script? thing is my internet connection here is so slow that I'm not sure if the 2 hours you said might become half a day for me

Thanks for the video, confirming that it does not play in MP. I am not sure I understand the rest of your post, but anyway, you just cannot overclock DSP above 600. And definitely you don't need such high DSP clock to play 480x368 video. Or this is a typo?

What is really strange is that test video you've sent me plays just OK with gst-launch, so seems the problem is shared between gst-dsp & mafw-gst-renderer. Not much to be done until Harmattan gst-dsp source code is available.
