so seems to work for me with 52.200.182.188 in /etc/hosts

unless i'm just benefitting from cached data since i haven't travelled much

Switching my /etc/hosts to that address has fixed GPS for me as well.

A naive question: Can't you just set the A-GPS URL directly to that IP address and leave hosts alone? I am tempted to fire up my N900 and try...

Nopd.
For whatever reason the settings field for supl server only accepts fully qualified server name, no IP addresses.

(And iirc the same counts for the e-mail server fields.)

Today I noticed that this host does not seem to respond ... or is the problem with my network? So A-GPS is once again broken for me.
