I can no longer distribute the old camera-ui legally, so that's not possible now.

What I can do however, is try to fix bugs introduced in camera-ui.

I'm like 99% sure that it is CSSU related. I did a reflash yesterday because the new camera-ui wasn't (and isn't) working for me. I reinstalled all apps but forgot to test fcam before i reinstalled the CSSU...

Anyone else with the closing camera-ui problem who fixed it?

EDIT: Got it working by opening the camera app with lens cover closed and setting "Storage" to sd card. for me it was "mmc-undefined-name"
...er, I was referring to your report of the fcamera focus point disappearing, not the closing camera-ui issue.

Anyone else seeing no focus point with fcamera ( try the point focus - no lil' circle )?

Sorry for asking again but are there any signs yet of release the media player? You need testers?

Don't even have anything like that installed (well, I have fcamera and lowlight, but weren't running). Also, while testing the camera-ui2, I had them both running at the same time (both UIs). While there was some friction, they both worked well and no symptoms like this arose (they still had live feed, and half-pressing focus made a click sound in the tiny camera, trying to focus). Also, the other UI was visible or issued an error.

If the new UI replaces the old, I don't assume they could both be running. Could I have had an error where I had 2 NEW UIs running? I did full-press the shutter to get camera to start with closed lid.

Which reminds me: if one full-presses the button to get camera to start with closed lid, Camera UI works fine, black image, buttons working, until lid is opened and closed again (or focus is half-pressed, or app loses focus). After that, it displays the closed lid logo.

Cool. No, I'm sticking to testing it for now. After a restore OS and re-do of 14.1 it seems to be working (taking pictures). It still has all the mentioned issues, minus the "ui-does-nothing" thing.

In my case the camera does not focus at all, when the camera mode is Action, Landscape and Night. It focuses correctly using Portrait and Macro mode, in Macro mode it focuses also on long distances (several meters here inside, where I tested). It focuses uncorrectly in Automatic mode - eg. 16,62cm instead of about 2 meters.

And I also got this:
The UI was working, but there was no image flowing in. It was all dark, the screen still had "18.3 cm" written on it from last image.
, but after closing and reopening the lens cover I got the picture back...

camera-ui2 uses the same auto-focus function as the stock

And I saw some wired auto-focus behavior with the stock camera-ui as well.

It is the same behavior, just tested.

Do you have syslog installed and can you look if there are
any error messages logged.

I know I do not like that too.

Yes, MohammadAG noticed this as well. I just didn't found time
to implement this.

Yes, you are right. And this is why every feedback is helpful.

Thank you for testing and reporting bugs/critics/suggestions.

Im not saying its a Bug in the original N900 SSU its a bug introduced with the Community SSU.
If someone would confirm that without the CSSU installed you can
In phone portriat mode highlight a number that is not a saved contact and click Add new contact. This should open the new contacts card in landscape with requiered fields to fill in such as Name,E-mail ect.
The problem here is force rotation. If it doesnt work for you then disable it.
