I have been billed the regular "checking your card's validity" and an additional one of the same amount which I'm hoping is the real charge. I will let you guys know when it either disappears or changes from pending to charged on my chase account.

Amazon has a habit of posting a pessimistic date and dispatching sooner. I'd say it's the end of the month at the latest. Any later than that, and they really will be losing orders.
