I was trying to say that if you use optimal(native) resolution then you need really powerful processor and i'm not sure if it can run same games as on iphone with same fps and higher resolution. We have already picky users commenting here that angry birds, hoops and also other games do not look as fluid as on iphone. For me they look good enough but I can see why they say so. So using little lower textures inside game would not hurt. As i said people would not notice if high paced game is using lower resolutions. Pixel density is just so high.

yes the graphics from a 3d standpoint will require some optimization. INterpolation or using a non native resolution would also not be ideal as any gain you would be able to harness in the lower resolution would be lost in having your output buffer running behind another layer.

With a little work the phone's hardware set is more than capable of running this type of game. Where the N900 can outshine other phones is in 2d processing (as this is less intense and detail would not need to be dropped) and cut scenes utilizing a non 3d engine.

The reason I say this is because the 3gs has the same hardware as the N900. It gets to do it's thing on a lower resolution, a disadvantage the N900 does not share. However, becuase of this extra screen real estate 3d processing will appear to take a hit when paired directly against the 3gs. Unfortunately the average consumer is ignorant of this, and will more than likely continue to blindly kiss the rear of anything apple.

N900 is faster than the 3gs. (GPU wise) As 3gs GPU (535) is heavily clocked down(1/4). Where as N900 is running the 530 at full speed. So N900 is actually about 1.5 to 2x faster 3D wise.

Cannot see anything amazing here. C'mon it's just two games (though nice looking ones), an app with no single self-efforts from Nokia even from what I know? The title is misleading a bit.

A demo version with two levels or so would be nice!

People should also note that the N900 is running at almost twice the resolution the 3GS is running it's games. So the same game might work slower on the N900 due to bumped up resolution.

but the the 3GS GPU as been under locked and is not running at full potential so it all evens its self really with + and - of each device

For one thing they are sure getting ready for paid content on Ovi Store, as with the PR1.1.1 update, you can no longer install applications from the Ovi catalogue using the command line tools, seems like apt got castrated.
