liux ! Its very promising but why only 8GB ? If i have 8GB card partitioned into 3 partitions, one FAT, another swap partition, and the last about 5GB ex4 partition is it enough ?

You don't even need to make partitions. The image writer would to it.

oh, it's in the unstable branch. But the "stable" one still contains two bugs at least... I just want someone to confirm that some revision works to push it to stable. But at the same time I have some unfinished ideas that I want to add. It's a month to the official 12.10 release after all

Update: anyway, the old one was buggy. I've pushed 151 to the stable.

Sounds interesting... Checking

Did you use debootstrap? It would be great if such image was available from somewhere at debian.org, is it? I would really love to include Debian

If you'll see something like this:
Saving to: `ubuntu-core-12.10-beta1-core-armhf.tar.gz'

100%[======================================>] 36,076,064 333K/s in 70s

2012-09-25 12:13:29 (506 KB/s) - `ubuntu-core-12.10-beta1-core-armhf.tar.gz' saved [36076064/36076064]

tar: usr/share/doc/libncurses5: Cannot create symlink to `libtinfo5': File exists
tar: usr/share/doc/libncursesw5: Cannot create symlink to `libtinfo5': File exists
tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors
That means you've left files on the partition and selected only the partition, not the whole device for installation.

I don't know, does it have a bootloader that can boot from uSD? Start with searching if U-Boot is available.
