Ah! Yeah, if you look at the top of that particular Goldstar config file, you'll see the line:

Code:
  bits           12
This means that only the last twelve bits of that code are significant (i.e., 0x144). The rest are ignored.

AH HA! Thank you!

So correct me if I am mistaken but the 0x8877 (example you gave) could also be expressed as 0x0000000000008877 with the 16bit header

Yup, you can pile on as many leading zeros as you want.

Except, at least in my personal experience, IrDA actually works. Bluetooth usually does not.
