I do not know which repository it is in, but I would really like to see GRAMPS for MER on my N810

Yes and no. There is a XineBackend in SVN which talks to a Xine D-Bus service. The D-Bus service would have to be recompiled for Mer, but I don't think that this should be a big problem. I haven't released its code yet, but will certainly do.
The XineBackend was intended for playing DVDs on my HTPC based on MediaBox.

You mean the best backend you have tested so far on Mer? This would be great news!

I have been able to successfully start MediaBox SVN version on Mer 0.12. The UI works quite well, but animations don't look as fluent as on Diablo. Also the Nokia Sans Cn font is missing, of course, so the fonts are a bit different.
Browsing the file system and UPnP shares worked fine. With libxine, I think, we're not far away from audio and video when Mer will have audio.

Yeah, i've had similar results. Animation is slower because of the video driver used in Mer, remember to install fbdev before trying to play videos otherwise, n8x0 will freeze.

You could come to #mer on freenode, if you're interested in testing and developing MediaBox + others with 0.13 images (which will btw have fbdev by default)

(Yeah, the truth is, i want you there so i could ask for some MediaBox stuff to test )

What about N810 A-GPS GUI? Any chance of seeing it run on Mer?
