That's already a possibility - http://www.samsung.com/uk/laundry/washer-wf12f9e6p4w/

The Samsung washing machines running Tizen have been a thing for a while - read: since last year.

And yeah... it's totally not secured.

I do remember sometime back (last year?) a Samsung washing machine blowing up. Apparently the drum ruptured and tore away part of the machine side when it went ballistic.

No idea if the device was tizen-enabled, though.

No. Those were not (for the most part) just their top loading washing machines. How do I know? Because I had one that was also affected. The Tizen based washing machine was offered brand new as a replacement - I said a solid "no".

Thank goodness I did as much. The IoT needs to quickly be superseded by the Security of Things (SoT).

Saving people from clickbait:

Samsung will also cooperate with Microsoft to offer developers development tools and languages to make Tizen apps. Microsoft's .NET and Xamarin UI framework is introduced to Tizen for C# language-based apps that can be made in the popular Visual Studio app by developers.
The old spy movies (new ones also) show people
"sweeping rooms for bugs" ahead of important meetings.

Soon enough,
sweeping for SAMSUNG products should be sufficient.
