Yeah I do which is why I found it odd.

I rathe play it safe so I did a flash and going to start over. Not a big deal really

I think I may have currupted something in my last few installs of some software I was developing

Thanks regardless, you pointed me in the right direction of my error.

Update:
mypaint_0.7.1-2maemo3 - an attempt to adhere to the Fremantle UI guidelines:

You can override the Hildon menu by putting a file named gtk_menu in ~/.mypaint/ (useful for setting hotkeys)

Updated download links in the first post!

Hi!
It's already implemented: Just File->Open and select image:
supported formats: .ora (openraster default), .png (rgb/rgba) and .jpeg.
You can paint directly on the image or add layers above / under to draw on.
Save as and add .suffix (above) to choose format.
Try the new Fremantle interface - download mypaint_0.7.1-2maemo3!
Cheers!

Hey Anders_gud,

Just want to thank you again, for your work porting this over. This is one of my killer apps that I needed on the n900. Even though it's not finished, I installed it....man I'm loving it!!!!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Keep up the good work!

Now do I need to just apt-upgrade this or do I need to uninstall the old one then install the updated?

x

It's not in the official repos (yet) so you have to download it from my site (the first post) and don't forget to vote for the "pressure in Fremantle" bug to get fixed. With full pressure sensitivity it's even better!

I am afraid not - as the dependencies are not filled (python-numpy...). It runs on Mer - but I believe Mer has the same pressure sensitivity bug as Fremantle.

So, what does this mean in layman's terms?

I am really trying to get a handle on this and am not finding a lot of info for us non coders!

While I am here, care to take a stab at this thread? http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=43773

thx

Hi!
It means that in Diablo pygtk (the Python bindings to the GTK user interface library http://www.pygtk.org/ ) is built without the means to use a new Python module that is introduced since mypaint-0.6.0 (I think python-numpy replaced the python-numeric module)

Mer ( http://wiki.maemo.org/Mer ) is a community based effort to provide a upgrade path for those like myself has kept their n8x0 devices.

I'm a bit frustrated too - Fremantle could certainly be easier to develop for if Nokia stuck closer to Debian or Ubuntu instead of including so much closed and outdated stuff...

I hope this were of any help to you and you are right to be confused - but - we have one of the greatest and friendliest community's here :-)
