Just to clear this up:

Swapping the physical CPU is entirely possible - some would even say it's easy. If you google "reballing" there are tons of videos with people doing this successfully on all kinds of electronics, including cell phones.

This doesn't mean it would work though :-)

Yes your very right there as it would only take approx 10 seconds to lift and 2 hours to solder lol but seriously is very easy to de-solder and solder back the replacement, all that is needed by the way is a hot air gun as no solder is needed !.

Get to work on that one you lot hahaha.

AHA and here is me thinking mr knowitall who thinks he knows everything would know, well for sure they are simple to get but you obviously dont have a clue !!!.

Just to add salt to the doubters... if only you knew just how easy it is to replace ANY ic on a mobile you would probably gasp in shock as it is only a few seconds work !.

No because the N900 was NEVER nokia's flagship device.

That would be amazing, go ahead and...

What about upgrade the memory from 256 mb to 512 mb or more?

There are many bricked phones that cost $5 or $10 bucks in eBay and we can swap the memory module - Numonyx M39L0R7070 (MCP - 128Mb NOR Flash, 128Mb Mobile DDR).

Look at this link to see what other parts can be upgraded...
