I can't believe there are people who want to exchange Maemo for Symbian. That the other way around may now be possible is the only thing that counts as far as I'm concerned.

question is why would you want symbian on an OS that runs so much better? i understand apps and what not, but am not switching OS's everytime i want to use maps, we have plenty of alternative applications, I don't understand why people keep wanting to port more and more OS's for the sake of saying I can do it, its like Nokia constantly buying more and more OS's...

It could be well ported to be fully usable. NitDroid works quite well except the call function which is missing. Not missing at all because it seems that you can call but can't hear.

So as it is the full source code which has been leaked, we could expect, full working call function, gprs, wifi, bluetooth and at least a minimum of stability to be short, A full usable OS like N8 have.

but Unfortunately, all of these are expectations and no one seems to be truly interested.

Guys,
I cannot open the dailymobile thread but I am almost sure that you are talking about the source code which has been staying on my hard drive for months ... symbian 3 source was leaked very long ago - i was still a symbian user ...

thats the point
switchin' between systems can really piss you off! (know it from my desktop experience)
Much better would be something like wine or preenv - running the apps in maemo.

The source code of bootloader are inside of SymbianOS layer the folder is: os/kernelhwsvr/brbootldr

HOWEVER these files are over the internet for a very long time now (since nokia made symbian 3 open source and then closed it again).

The idea of an emulator like preenv is nice but i think it`s impossible - symbian is not even Linux
