Yes, that's ok, too. Let's use MaePad then. (I'll present some results soon.. still working on the UI

Cool stuff! I'd need the following icons/metaphors:
  • Sketch (48x48) - icon in the list indicating the item is a sketch
  • Rich text (48x48) - icon in the list indicating the item is a rich text
  • Checklist (48x48) - icon in the list indicating the item is a checklist
  • Color chooser toolbar icon
  • Line width toolbar icon (line width for sketch)
  • Object type toolbar icon (for sketch, possible values: ellipse, rectangle, line, freehand -> only one icon for now that includes all possible types)
  • Background toolbar icon (for sketch, lets the user select a "backdrop" - needs 3 icons: empty, lines and grid)
  • Strikethrough toolbar icon
  • Font selector toolbar icon
  • Underline toolbar icon

Oh, and I'm using the default/stock icons where possible (general_add, general_delete, etc..), so it would be nice if you could provide the missing icons in the same style and size (white foreground color). See the files in /usr/share/icons (search for general_add.png, etc..) for examples and style.

And a suggestion for the application icon:

Maybe replace "Lorem ipsum" with "Get things done" and add a checkbox in front of it and make "things" in italics and done in boldface. This way, we have all three memo types in the app (the face is sketch, the checkbox is checklist and the boldface and italics are for rich text).

Now that is a great idea! Una momento!

EDIT: I hade som trouble getting the whole "Get things done" in the width there. I tried to short it.. to "todo done".. What do you think of this ?

I will check those default icons and the style of those and try to copy that.. but I am going to watch a movie with my gf here now. I will see if I can do that tomorrow though.

Ok, time to get some sleep. Here's a binary .deb of the current development snapshot.. still a bit crash-y, but with a nice UI. It also shows where the icons are missing.

Ideally, remove your old Maemopad+ memos.db file and create a new one with MaePad.

Download: http://khan.thpinfo.com/~thp/tmp/maepad_1.0_armel.deb

The usual disclaimer for binary-only .debs applies. If you brick your device, it's all your fault.

Just tried it.. its great! Its really tidy now. Great job.

Would it be possible to add a "collapse" function when browsing all the nodes? That list can become huge otherwise. I would actually prefer all nodes to be collapsed by default. I remember maemopad didn't do that..

Im gonna put on some coffee here and see if I can get those icons done here.
