I do that all the time with ones/once and too/two and witch/which, just seem to write what is the first word that sounds right. Not native language ands not in constant use as a spoken language.

Actually, that's what most native English speakers do. There/their, were/where, its/it's... many native English speakers do not no there own language.
I read things visually, so to me two words that look different are different, even though the may happen to be pronounced the same way.
