I'm considering doing a 3rd party repository for Video Center shows using the same file format as the ones on Nokia's official site.. only problem is that they no longer appear to work as they should.. a MIME problem, I'll bet.

Anyways, if I go ahead with it, I'll be sure to mark each channel with info such as which will work in Mplayer and which in Media Player, etc...

Let me know what you think.

Sounds like a great idea - especially if you're willing to keep it up as things change and more channels become compatible with the n800.

Yeh a third party repository would be great, this really could be that "killer-ap" that we've all been waiting for..

I just hope with the next itteration of the IT that it does alot better with video codecs.

That is a brilliant idea, I have about some 25 channels and the format that they are using, I think that will help a lot of people if they want to pursue the channels of their interests. By doing these, I also find out, that some channels are very sloppy with their RSS feeds, as if they put it there because it is fashionable. For example, NBA RSS feeds gives file format xyz'-'m4v. File extension is a '-', not a dot, can you beleive it. And then, ABC, NBC, CNN all use m4v too, only if we have a player like VLC for the 770, then we would not have to care which player. VLC on the win PC plays them all.

VLC on the IT would be a great thing, as VLC pretty much will play almost EVERYTHING.

For sure going through diff feeds is a real pain as half of them open the RSS Feeder or just won't play (unsported error).

Just the other day I went and tried prob a dozen or so feeds and out of that I think I got 1 to work.

That usually means you using the wrong player, try again with media player. I dl street fury and use on media player. It is DVD quality and very smooth.

You are totally correct. I have tried for a long time with many many feeds and got lucky with CBS. The problems of trying various feeds are the ridiculous closing time on VC, it takes close to 4 minutes, even you do not do anything but just open services and look at your feeds. Is that the same with you? Or maybe I have too many feeds? I installed DaemonFeed on Win PC with the hope to try feeds faster and easier......it didnt help, it is a different thing.

The 3rd party repository idea I had for Video Center feeds/formats known to work will be rolled into Jablet eventually.
