The nice thing about him-arabic is that the keyboard layout files are simple xml files.

Look at the files en.xml and he.xml in /usr/share/him-arabic/ and you should have no problem generating any layout you want.

After you edit a he.xml, just change to another keyboard type and back to him-arabic keyboard, and the file will be reloaded.

Hi, can any one tell me how can I install Indian fonts (Hindi for e.g.) and make it work in the mozilla browser. I have N810 with updated OS2008 installed on it. Any workable hint will be greatly appreciated. I have been looking for this solution but my trials of manually copying hindi font (ttf file) into font folders (etc/fonts and usr/share/fonts) didnt work

Copy the fonts to /home/user/.fonts and run fc-cache. To test that the fonts are installed, run fc-list, and see that the fonts are installed.

It is possible that some encodings are not supported, so make sure you test a UTF-8 web page.

Now the packages are in extras repository. To install hebrew on OS2008 (chinook or diablo), just make sure maemo extras repository is enabled, and install the hebrew package.

This will install the packages
* hebrew (Hebrew layout for vkb and N810 hardware keyboard),
* him-arabic (a different on screen keyboard, with Hebrew layout),
* culmus (Hebrew fonts) and
* locale-resolver-extra (for displaying Hebrew and Arabic language names in the menus).

Each of the latter three packages is also installable by itself.

Please report to me any problems, suggest improvements, etc.
