Does anyone have the scripts for creating sword modules as http://karl.kleinpaste.org/sword/scripts/ no longer does due to abuse
I have created modules in the past, but during a rebuild of my computer I lost the scripts, and now I don't have a copy.
Would anyone be able to send me a copy.

I have given up. I've tried to copy and paste text from Rapier into a notes application but it appears there's no way to get any text out of Rapier. Am I overlooking something or is this actually true?

pphilipp: it is true, there is no cut and paste of any sort implemented.

Although it may not be that complicated to write, the current workaround would be to just use mention verse key in your notes instead of pasting a full string.

Hello,
I had Rapier installed on my N810 but never was able to use it because of my ineptness at understanding how to install them into the proper folder, etc. I think I understand better after reading this informative thread.
The problem is that I just upgraded to "Diablo" and Rapier is gone and does not recognize the install file posted at the hurdygurdy website.
Can someone please help a bewildered Linux user? I just got this N810 last week, and I love it. I would love to be able to read the Bible using this device, but I can't seem to find a simple "click here," "install program here" instructions. I am somewhat tech-savvy, so I guess that means I am dangerous. I am guessing that I am not alone in this new world of Linux, so if some seasoned user could post a nice Bible installation tutorial, I think it would benefit a number of newcomers.

Thank you.

Hi there.

There is a problem uploading rapier to the diablo repository.

The sword package build correctly locally, seems to build correctly on the auto builder, but the i386 resulting package does not contain any file (except the doc one). The funny thing is, it works ok locally, and it works ok on the armel auto build package.

I do not know why it is so, but the result is, i cannot push nor python-sword, nor rapier
in the diablo extras repository.

You will need to add the chinook extras repository in your diablo application manager to download rapier with the install file.

I have not tested this though as i did not upgraded to diablo yet.

It should be the same as the diablo extras repository, except all occurence of 'diablo' should be replace with "chinook".

unfortunately, rapier does not seem to install correctly in diablo.
It, as of now, does not work.

I have been only partially successful in getting Rapier to work with Diablo.

I first installed with the Application Manager and got a message about the installation not being successful. (I don't know which repository it came from. I have maemo Extra Diablo, maemo chinook, maemo Extras, debfarm and Eko one.) The program works in that I can install modules and move to any chapter and verse, but I cannot create an index. When I try to do so, I get the message, "Error when creating the index. There were problems."

I uninstalled with the Application Manager and reinstalled as root with "apt-get install rapier." This time I got a message to the effect that the configuration was not completed because the file /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/gnome/__init__.py does not exist. Again, rapier is usable, but I can't create an index.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

This is strange.

Does using mkfastmod in a shell works ?

SWORD_PATH=/path/to/your/sword/directory mkfastmod MODULENAME

Be sure not to have any -devel repository set: there is a more recent version of clucene-core in the chinook and diablo devel, but the only sword engine associated with it is in diablo devel. This may explain why indexing fails (index use clucene-core).

Come on guys. How can you read books and especially The Bible on an electronic device ( no matter if it is IT or something else) ?!?!?! That's just the most RIDICULOUS thing in the world !!! Nothing can displace the feeling of reading a real book.
