So Wayfinder continues to blow.
A new Map version is available.

Sorry yes, foregot to mention I also upgraded to the new Map - no idea what it gave me as u don't get release notes on these deltas.

The problem seems to be some obscure DUN issue between Map, Maemo's DUN support across Bluetooth and some phone networks. Some people have said they have intermittent problems - which almost sounds like some time related issues. Who knows. Wayfinder don't and don't seem to care that they don't.

No packet mangling being done - Wayfinder admit a problem, they just don't intend to fix it or even admit if it's fixable by them. Read x thread reference above for the Byzantine response 2 of us received on same day from their support.

Then you're eligable for a refund because they deliver a broken product.

Well is it their product, Map, that is brocken? If it's using sockets then Map shouldn't even be aware its talking thru Bluetooth DUN to the internet rather than thru Wifi - one would have thought!

Is it the DUN support in Maemo that is at fault? if so then it's a Nokia job to fix it. But maybe only Map thru some DUN provokes it.

Is it some weird interaction between my network (O2 GPRS) and Maemo and/or Map? O2 of course 'don't support' anything beyond my phone browsing WAP. Wayfinder don't support O2 network as such. Nokia sort of support Map as it is built in with N810.

A systems integration conundrum.

Perhaps if I got them all in a small room and locked the door till they fixed it?

There is something to be said for an iPhone and its navigation support bought thru UK supplier (o2) - in such a situation u can shout loud and justifiably to one company and get it fixed - or get your money back!

As for a refund, well it mostly works. Traffic updates on the move were the icing on the cake. Not essential feature but a nice one for €99 compared to TomTom IMHO (bearing in mind I had N810 already and was a novice/will be a light user of Satnav). So a rebate of a percentage of €99?

I did try and get people to say if they had got updates working across DUN weeks back, but only rwijnhov replied.

So, anyone have working / brocken Map traffic updates over Bluetooth DUN to phone network (3G or GPRS)?

Not being very helpful here, but wayfinder updates work fine for me either via wifi or over a 3G connection to 3 in the UK using a Nokia 6120c, and has done since I purchased the licence in May.

Yup, got valid license and it works using Vodafone NL (phone says 3.5G but they also provide GPRS speed). However it isn't useful for you to know this... I rather know on which providers it doesn't work, compile this, and send this to Wayfinder. BTW, from what I read Nokia Maps 2.0 (not for N8x0 but for S60) costs only 50 EUR...

sounds to me re-reading this thread that it's a issue with the internet service available from the phone. I should add that I have the 1gb mobile broadband addon on my phone.

is the phone connection configured on the tablet with the wizard in the normal manner?

is internet traffic, email etc working through the connection? coul you post a portiion of the capture log
