When using Midnight Commander (THANKS!!), is there a way to keep the display keyboard from popping up, after you scroll through each directory? It is somewhat annoying.

If you didn't, mc always defaults to the file viewer, which deceptively looks like the editor, until the unsuspecting user tries to change something. It's just UNIX's way of trying to be funny...

Thanks for the advice. I'm very new to the 770 and still learning. Where do I get Xterm from etc.? Vi, MC? Means Chinese to me, sorry.
1- Use Xterm to get to command prompt.
2- Use an editor like vi or MC to edit that file.
3- Save the changes.
4- Done.

Teaching you how to use both is beyond the scope of this forum. May I suggest either a good beginners' book on Linux -- or just use the zoom keys.
