Woot! My shipment notice just came in from Uncle Nokia, and I'll be rockin' a spanking new 810 by Monday or Tuesday.

Shouldn't that just be http://http.maemo.org?

... No ...
I'm assuming you meant to put http://WWW.maemo.org ...
However, I was providing the link to the wiki page, which can answer a LOT of questions that new users have.

Yes the www was missing,
(damn you keyboard that didn't translate what I was thinking to what I meant to type but hey, we all have problems).
(that two t-shirts quotes in a tonight!).
The wiki is great but I would expect and hope that a new users stumble across the community (http://www.maemo.org) before the wiki.

I dunno, the Users section of the wiki is where it's at for someone who just opened the box on their N8x0.
I think it's pretty implied that if you are on talk.maemo.org that you will end up looking at the main maemo.org page... maybe it's just me.

But, forgive me if I am wrong, if you bought a device and maemo.org was somehow brandished around somewhere in documentation or online discussion, I would hope the current web design would point you in the right direction; whether it be wiki.maemo.org or bugs.maemo.org, the main page should convey an easiness to facilitate the new user in contributing.
maemo.org is the most important thing Nokia has in surviving an open source push, much as http://www.android.com is for google.

I see what you are saying, and agree with most of it. However, the wiki contains (I believe) solutions to the most commonly asked questions that beginners have regarding maemo and the tablets.
And, there is no link to the wiki on the main page (I just checked).
