Thank you all for sharing insight and experience. It looks I don't need to be a paranoid, at least for the memory issue. For whatever reason when my N810 becomes no more usable, I hope a better NIT is available to buy.

Now my concern is whether to boot from the internal 2GB memory, because I saw people here saying that will give a lot of room for applications. Going for forum search!

Unless you are really really pushing for space, if not, I recommend boot from BOTH intSD and extSD. Advantage is you can always backup one from the other from here. Since I been doing that, I have NOT flash my tablet for a long time.

Take a look at the thread "Introducing Console tools" by Penguinbait in the Applications' subforum.
His apps pbeasy (and pb) greatly simplify cloning the OSto mmcs.

Going back to the original question... we have reports of screen failures on a NIT. Do we have any reports of flash failures on a NIT? That would be interesting to know, wouldn't it?

I've been running both the OS and the swapfile of my N810 on the internal flash from the start. It's 20 months now, and still rocks.

One thing that concerns me is that there is no indicator for how much life is left in case of flash memory (something like SMART for HDDs?). Good today, but may die tomorrow. Somehow I feel such technology might be already available, but didn't come true.
