Linux user for fun and profit since 1999 (Red Hat Linux 5.2)...switched my main desktop with Red Hat Linux 6.0.
My first handheld Linux device was a Sharp Zaurus.
The differences are so huge nowadays...If you experienced this you know the Linux desktop has matured so much ever since.
And, if you do compare (platforms), at least acknowledge the bias of doing so.

Hi, this is my first post.
I am another new phone centric member. After reading the leak on the N900 I began seeking out all the info I could find about the device. I had never heard of the Maemo platform. The more I learned about Maemo the more excited I became. If the specs on this device are true then I have finally found the perfect all in one device I have been waiting for.
I understand the frustration that those who were waiting for a upgraded tablet feel but with the success of the N900, which I believe will be HUGE, the chances for other devices like new tablets will greatly increase.
I was nervous about joining after reading some of the anti phone people posts and would like to thank Jsa for showing me that I would not get shot on sight!

I like to have some control and input over the apps on my hardware without having to wait for the blessing of the maker of the product.
