With 32GB of storage space. And if you can actually get it to compile... should be possible.

Apparently debian has arm debs so it seems it should be possible.

I only use Latex on my PC with MikTex (1.32 gb) in combination with TeXnicCenter.

There is the program called maemotex but the installation file is only 5.8 mb and the last update was long time ago.

Can anyone confirm if this program runs on Maemo 5/N900? Maybe I should start a new thread...

Anyway, as it is with the n800 with about 512 MB of swap (I think, might be a little less) and the 400 Mhz speed, music starts to skip and the system chugs to an almost halt when I have YouAmp (music), a PDF open, Tear, and feedcircuit all while offline (using feedcircuit + tear to read my cached rss feeds).
Actually YouAmp is the worst for skipping at the slightest usage. Canola isn't as bad, and the built in player, which is optimized on the n800, never really skips for me. even with many things running. I run the GPE tasks, Calendar, MicroB webbrowser (javascript and flash off), Notecase Pro, Gnumeric, FBreader all while playing audio on the built-in player and occasionally running Tear for sites that need javascript, and also occasional Abiword and PDF(not Evince, which is a total memory hog which can be more of a problem than cpu usage), no skipping.

I think the Load applet, you can add on is helpful, I see performance issues once my memory usage hits 3 bars and is almost ready to hit four bars. I can run everything above at once with only 2 bars. The variable is usually what's in Tear, which sometimes is much much worse with memory for a site with javascript on than microb with javascript on. So install load applet
and keep an eye on memory usage, I think Tear sometimes takes up alot of memory for no reason, which never happens for me when I use MicroB with javascript on. Also if you use Evince to read PDF's, do a comparison of memory usage with the same pdf opened only in the built in pdf reader or Evince, you might see some disturbing results. With only Evince running and loading up a pdf I can sometimes use up 3 bars of memory, whereas the same pdf in the built in reader takes up less than 1 bar. This means if I use Evince to read the pdf I can have very little else running without some performance issues.

Bump...

Has anyone looked at this? I'm keen to make it work too when the beastie shows up.
