Anyone here using MSN, AIM, Yahoo etc and tried being connected with those all day? Does it remain connected while the N900 is locked and make a sound when a message comes in?
That was what I hated about WinMo, when in standby it halts the CPU so cannot remain connected to IM without staying powered up and simply blanking the screen, which drains the battery fast.

(I do NOT have an N900. Having said that...) On every one of the previous tablets, the tablet would enter power saving mode but would still issue alerts, etc., when necessary. That and use almost no power, even when connected to WiFi all through the night.

I hope that applies to the N900 too... that would be a killer feature

- Turning on the device in the morning (shouldn't do that, is said to use a lot of power). Doing that to make sure that I don't awake from some email alerts in the night... should probably better just go to offline/flight mode :-)
- Received 3 SMS, sent 3 SMS
- Two calls over 3G, about 15 min.
- 1 hour of music listening (50% over bluetooth, 50% with simple plugin headset)
- Showing off some fotos (5 minutes)
- Using the calendar (5-10 minutes)
- Using Wordpy to configure it and get posts (5-10 minutes)
- 1/2 hour of surfing
- Always online, getting alerts for received SMS and Emails. 50% home wifi, 50% UMTS 3G/3.5G
- Mauku running +/- all day long, receiving over 50 tweets
Now, 14 hours later: 1 bar left in the status display.-Tom (N900, N810, N800)
