Now that argoldst mention proxy settings, there should be proxy settings for the wap.voicestream.com which allows the bypass so you can get full access. I think the port is 8080, but there's other settings that goes along with this, but don't quite remember it.

Also, argoldst, you don't change proxy, it's the apn you change, or I should be saying use.
