The word is that on January 4th, Nokia plan to release an OTA firmware update which will install Symbian on all N900's being used on any UK network apart from Vodafone. Anybody who bought their N900 from MPD will have a 21-day grace period in which to sign up for a Vodafone contract, after which their handset and SIM card will be automatically locked to Orange.

Note that this post contains the same amount of factual information as the aforementioned blog entry.

I called him on it and he said those were his *suspicions* as to what would happen. Nice of him to add a disclaimer rather than to phrase it as fact

He seems to have a bug up his arse that he's not been able to get his hands on an N900, so has turned to slamming it as a "fake" phone that doesn't really exist other than as a geek's wet dream.

Maybe he's trying to be satirical, but really it just seems like he's having a tantrum.
