thing that bothers me is that i dont know good german.. i wanted to ask somehow is it possible for them to order an qwerty version of phone, i dont mind waiting just if its possible...
can't believe they still don't have em in stock tho.. so much noise about it but still its everything so silent...

Wenn ein Gerätehersteller ein Firmware Update bereitstellt, wird dieses zuerst einer umfangreichen Überprüfung durch unsere Spezialisten unterzogen. Vom Ergebnis dieser Tests hängt es ab, ob das Firmwareupdate freigegeben wird und somit für unsere Kunden zur Verfügung steht.

Dies ist, abgesehen von dem von Ihnen bereits erwähnten SIM Lock die einzige Einschränkung.
Translation: If Nokia releases a firmware update, it must first be reviewed by A1 service people. They decide if it's ready to be released to their customers. Like benny1967 said, they're not really good at this. I'll be buying an unlocked device. Btw, Amazon.at now ships the N900 to Austria as well (last time I looked that wasn't possible).

Does anyone has experience on this?
How long does A1 review the firmware before they release the new one?

Today I was one step away from buying a N900 from A1 but I don't want to wait a few month for the update. Not for a Maemo update.

i have bought the n900 from a1. mine isn't branded. i get all the maemo updates as soon as they're released. (much sooner than the poor guys in the UK. ...)
