No, I'm afraid we designed the chips too well. =p

ok, if your in an area that has equal 2.5 and 3G signal the phone will bounce between the two, not a big deal IMO. 3.5G is only used in data transfer, so yes if you have widgets that pull from the cloud your going to see alot of hopping back and forth from the different networks.

That makes sense...but if it does that while I am in the browser loading various pages it stops making sense.

It also makes no sense for the phone to bounce to edge when I could be on 3G. Isn't that what you would call a bug?

Many of these issues are resolved when a new sim card is used and/or IMEI is registered.

I have not done this. I need to try. Thanks for comment!

i would say that your having issues with the towers. 3G is fast, but it doesnt cover as wide of an area as edge, so when the 3G signal drop a little the phone goes to edge, which is probably twice the signal of 3G at the time. the phone is doing its job, sometimes it gets confused though hehe. its more of a t-mo issue than an n900 issue.

My signal strength is marginally better than it was with the c905. I work in a seriously dead spot for all the networks. The good bit is that unlike other phone, n900 battery seems to hold up despite having to keep sucking for connection.

FLV support can be installed separately. The packages are on its way to maemo-extras. The Zoutube app brings them along.

What, exactly, do you need to get access to?

As for flv, there's support in Extras-devel that's being tested as we speak.

Zoutube behaves "strange" for me. It seems to always stop about 30 seconds into a vid and never resumes. I also see no way to do a vid search in the app.

BTW, I had my IMEI number registered with Tmo just now, so hope to see GPRS improvements.
