Anyone know how long Nokia Messaging is going to remain free?

I have a regular gmail account that is my primary email account. All of my contacts/calendar are associated with that account. I need to be able to sync email, calendar and contacts...this is the highest priority.

I also have a few domains setup with google apps that I would also like to be able to check email for.

My work also has an exchange server that would be nice to just check email from (no calendar, contacts, etc), but I don't think it has IMAP enabled.

My assumptions/questions, please give any advice/input:
  1. I will have to use MFE for my main gmail account so that contacts and calendar can be synced. Is there any other way?.
  2. I will only be able to sync the primary calendar associated with my main gmail account. Is there any way to sync additional calendars?
  3. I can then use either an IMAP connection for the other google apps domains or should I set them up with Nokia Messenger?
  4. I will not be able to sync with my work email at all since I'm only allowed one Exchange account.

What about archiving mail etc.? And does it sync it with the server that its been read? I'm debating whether it'd be better to just use the damn browser..!

Sorry if this is a report...

But you need to first signup with Nokia Messaging and add your Gmail account there. [email.nokia.com]

Then on the phone from the list you only need to add Nokia Messaging, it automatically adds the GMail Mailbox within itself. Now you get PUSH Mail.

p.s. the service seem to have a downtime last week, now its up and running smoothly.

Although not a direct answer, this might shed some lights...

I have been using NM for a while on my previous phone and it always worked well.

When i switched to the n900 I encounter one small issue.

If i delete it off the device it then deletes it off gmail also.

Does anyone know how to prevent that from happening?

I am using IMAP i believe (i checked my nokia messaging account online, thats what it said.)

But i cannot seem to prevent it from deleting it off gmail also.

That's quite weird. NM is working perfectly fine and fast here.

I stumbled upon another issues last night when I was helping a friend setup his *new* N900. We signed up at email.nokia, com and then when we ran the Email Setup Wizard, to our greatest surprise "Nokia Messaging" wasn't listed.

May be they are in the process of tweaking the servers for N900 support?!?
