Here is easy way to fix this.. You do not need to remove power-kernel!
Make sure extra-devel is on.
xterminal:
When it run agen.Code:Root apt-get update ...wait.. apt-get remove fcamera .....wait.. reboot

I tried reinstalling omap3camd as suggested above. That fixed it somewhat. The camera app was starting again. But the image had a green tint and the auto-focus did not work anymore. Things are different in the FCamera app, everything worked there. My best guess is that some configuration files got jumbled up.
So finally I created a backup, re-flashed the PR1.3 image and restored the backup. Everything is fine again. Either way, I still wonder what has caused the issue in the first place.
