The following is the mail I sent to you. Please REPLACE THE IP ADDRESS BELOW WITH YOURS.
Dear edcarsky,
Below is the exact script for the captioned topic:
The first line bring you to root shell;Code:root cp /etc/profile /etc/profile.backup echo export http_proxy="http://xxx.xx.x.xx:8080/" >> /etc/profile
the second line backup your precious file just in case;
the third line append the line to the end of /etc/profile.
Pay extra attention to the >>(two >). If you only type one >, then you might not be able to use your N900 again as you erased your /etc/profile
Tell me in the forum the result. Thanks.

It seems I have similar but slightly different problem.
Typicall I can connect to any free wifi that asks for a user name and password. But I can not connect to a wifi that only / just asks to accepts the use condition.
I tried to connect to a free wifi at the airport but received an error that page cannot be displayed. When tried to connect to the same wifi with my notebook internet explorer I, a page was displayed where I need only to check accept of condition.
I do not understand the reason.
Please help.
