Mine is from first retail batch, it developed 2 of those spots 2 weeks ago. A little frustrating, but for the moment I will keep them because everything else works almost flawlessly. Let's hope it is not a first simptom of something worst - I had a WSOD 770...

Probably nothing to worry about, just the parts shifting a bit as you apply pressure. My old Treo 650's case screws would "loosen up" after a few months of heavy use and I'd start to get crunching and creaking sounds when typing or touching the screen. I'd just tighten the screws again (you need to be careful not to overtighten anything with a plastic case - it's easy to strip threads or cause a crack) until the parts all fit tightly together. Haven't had that problem on my Treo since I started using a hard clear case though.

I do not have any spots or stuck/dead pixels, but I have had the touch screen clicking. I have all sounds turned off; it's not that. When it happens I noticed that on a certain area of the screen if I click and drag--that's when the screen physically clicks. As if two layers aren't touching and a ripple builds up, then snaps. Probably makes no sense. But there you are.

Has anybody spoken to nokia about this issue? Does it fall under warranty?

I took my N900 to repairs last friday (Verkkokauppa.com, Finland) and today i got it back. They changed the screen with no extra costs or questions. Yay! I guess that if the spot is visible, they will change it if you haven't broken it yourself (no visible damages on screen).

I had it visible on bright colors like terminal or google.com.

Mine is exactly the same. I guess I'll drop the phone to Nokia care center somewhere here in Helsinki now that I've read you got it repaired under warranty So thanks for the info.

If you want to reduce the time on repairs, first get the warranty receipt from the store you bought it and then take it to the actual service center yourself. Usually they send the devices to repairs via post office. This is what they told me at Verkkokauppa.com.

Mine was at Anglo Service or something like that in Helsinki.
