Yep. According to javispedro, there's still important features of the keyboard that remain closed source.

I'll try a full blown xkbd keyboard layout that fills up about 85% of the screen and see how that works for DialCentral.

The only thing is that you'll need to use a hardware key to open/close it.

So yeah, if anyone has a better idea, I guess this has to be the direction to go.

There is an app which would let you customize the camera key. How about implementing this whole idea with him, making a portrait keyboard first and have an option with his app to press the camera key and the portrait keyboard pops up in portrait browsing?

Epage, the creator of DialCentral, currently has no intention of having his app support portrait mode since such a feature isn't native to the tablet.

So first thing on my end is to have a very large landscape keyboard for the time being.

I posted a screenshot of it over in the DialCentral thread.

Most likely I'll change the number to 10 keys per row instead of 8 since, like most of you, I actually prefer a qwerty layout the best.

Quite honestly, the keyboard is pretty darn fugly.

The thing with xkbd though is that it can accept pictures for keys as well.

Using Corel graphics program, we could get some really nice looking keys with 3D shading.

I've never used a graphics imaging program so I'm not too sure if this is something I could do though.

Anyone know of decent, graphic artist here?
