They are being quite stubborn and aggressive about the whole thing, if someone asked me to support an application I wrote on a different platform like that I'd probably [be a little disgruntled and politely inform them that I would not be doing the port]. There's no benefit to them releasing GP on Maemo - the user base is small in comparison to the iPhone or Android, and it would still be a lot of work to port properly.
