Interesting choice for a work phone I got E90 currently as a work phone, but should get new one in a 2 weeks. Always been interested about the 8xxx series so maybe i should get Luna or 8800

Well its a good phone if you just want to call n text while at work, and its so classy lol, built like a tank, fits in pockets easy and feels very expensive, you can pick them up in UK from ebay for around £90, well worth it IMO

haha yeah it is, but i only used the wi fi on the n96 nothing else because i didnt even have it connected to vodahpone netherlands.
neither did i make any calls.

I do have mobile internet on my contract and it is 500mb with unlmt landline + texts

But they say that wi fi is chargeable outside the uk !
Which in my reply, i shouted and went look, the hotel has the wi fi ! and its free, so why am i being charged and then they said wi fi or 3g it still counts on the data charge.
At this point is when i debranded and went i dont think so.

i have the 205 firmware guys !
ive got it from vodaphone direct since it was a upgrade to the ultimate fail of a mobile that was the n96.

Ive gotted connected on my wi fi here at home, just had it for one day tbh.

not letting me on the extras devel or the extras testing.

the nokia software update catalouge is showing 404 error when you go into details.
Ive seen other threads about this, but is there a fix to this.

i know vodaphone 360 is the worst piece of software created in the world.
When the phone has widgets and a contact book and all the other software.
Why would you go and install it.
Mine has some vodaphone ads on it as well !!
Argh, wat did they give me, full on with crapware.
Also on a side note, mine keeps rebooting when im doing something like adding contacts, although its happend 3 times to random things like coming here on the browser and then playing music.
Is this fixed or a problem ?

Surely, due to the nature of the N900, people could just flash the device to firmware of their choice manually? I can't see how far this branding could really go!! It was easy enough to unbrand the N96 which was running Symbian (which I did when I got my phone directly from Voda).

Thankfully I'm a T-Mobile MPD contract for my N900, although using my vodafone contract from the N96 as it hasn't run out yet. Sold the other contract to a family member for half price due to the heavy subsidy I ended up with for my N900

is that branded ?

Yes, the 205 in there seems to indicate that it's the Vodafone branded version. 203 is the non-branded UK version.

And yes, you should be able to re-flash it with the 203 firmware - you'll almost certainly need to use flasher rather than NSU though.

203 is the vanilla Handsets (No Branding) 205 is Vodafone direct handsets. If you got it from MPD or CFW even though the contract is Vodafone and its exactly the same if not better than Vodafone Direct, their handsets are 203 (Vanilla)

Only handsets DIRECT from vodafone have 205 and are "Branded"

It seriously sucks if theyve locked out all the features that make the phone what it is.

Think you need a reflash, but I'm pretty sure this will void your warranty with Vodafone direct, as it is not the "series" of firmwares "they" designed to be run on the handset.

Sucks if thats the case, I know thats the policy they had towards unbranding the Voda N97 with "Vanilla" firmware.

Hope this helps.
