....and I thought I had the only 4 yr old stealing my tech toys

Nothing is funnier than a pair of little feet sticking out from under a 17" laptop

We finally broke down and got him the $229 eMachine/Acer netbook @ Walmart. Perfect size for his small fingers and the PBS Kids website runs great. (and of course I get another "toy" to play with)

If/When I get an N900, He might get my N800....maybe....

I have the same problem with my 3 year old. Instead of fighting it, I just bought him a leapfrog game system. They are fairly inexpensive and they have lots of nice educational games.... and they are durable! He gets to feel included when my wife and are playing with our respective electronic devices.

Just be aware that the Leapfrog, while great for younger kids, gets old quick. My sons were taking keyboarding and working in a computer room as part of their elementary school curriculum. My preschool nephew is even more into real computers. He loves the Wiggles so he rips American CDs, researches the original Australian CD playlists and burns his own Australian CDs complete with downloaded cover art. Of course I also got an urgent email from my brother when my nephew changed his Windows password to one with his birthday followed by an indeterminate number of sixes.

It's far too easy to get into desktop modification mode, and there is no lock that I know of...
