anyway if i browse it and try to open with a text editor i have:

You could check your FREMANTLE_X86 version as well (same path with X86 instead of ARMEL) as I realize that is where you are actually working (the emulator not the cross compiler)

What's the content of your sources.list for the X86 target now? and what exactly is the output from 'fakeroot apt-get update' in Scratchbox.

That looks very much like your host machines sources.list Ubuntu9.10.

What is the contents of
/scratchbox/users/maemo/targets/FREMANTLE_X86/etc/apt/sources.list
?

It should look very much like the example that I posted earlier.

and the errors / output of 'fakeroot apt-get update' from within the scratchbox environment for the FREMANTLE_X86 target?

it is saying that it can't connect to repositories

i was using nokia's ubuntu image(with sdk preinstalled)...now i am installing the sdk in a fresh ubuntu installation...maybe this will solve my problem..
